Halo 5: Guardians is out of beta now and the development team at 343 Industries is working on developing both the single and the multiplayer sides of the title, which is set to arrive on the Xbox One in late November, but the company is also continuing its effort to deliver more info about the lore of the game to the community.

A new Halo Waypoint update in the Canon Fodder series talks about the multiplayer maps that were included in the testing period.

There are no new details about the best tactics for each or about the way a team can dominate them, but information on how each environment is linked to the bigger themes of the Halo universe is offered.

The company delivers plenty of details for Truth, Regreat, Empire, Eden, Pegasus, Orion, Crossfire and Trench.

The full lore descriptions can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

343 Industries also says that many gamers have noticed that new Covenant ships are featured in some classic moments of the Halo story, and it offers an explanation.

The studio states, “It’s important to keep in mind that the War Games simulations can create a variety of scenarios that ONI and the UNSC can find very useful. Imagine it as sort of a ‘what if’ situation for not only the Spartan-IV soldiers honing their skills, but for captains and admirals alike who are looking to gain any tactical advantage they can, both on the ground and in space.”

The developers also seem to suggest that simulations will have an important role in Halo 5: Guardians.

Changes are coming to the core shooter mechanics

For a long time, betas for video games have had more of a marketing role than a testing one, but it seems that 343 Industries and Microsoft have extracted a lot of info from the three weeks during which gamers played Halo 5: Guardians in multiplayer.

The studio is saying that they will allow for all Spartan abilities to be turned off when custom games are created and that they are also making a range of changes to the presentation of the title and to the balance of all weapons, including the Hydra.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to be launched in the fall on the Xbox One and will be the biggest title arriving on the Microsoft platform during the year.
