The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they will not be running a beta test for the new content update which is planned for Halo: The Master Chief Collection and that all testing for it will be completed internally before launch.

The studio claims in a new Halo Waypoint post that this will mean that the update will be delivered faster than previously thought and that the community will be able to get it without having to deal with the complexity of testing.

The announcement explains that "Progress on the CU continues, and we’ll work to provide an ETA once the final date is locked. As stated last week, our current focus and priority remains delivering the upcoming improvements to the matchmaking and party systems, but the team is also working on and prioritizing additional items beyond this, and I look forward to discussing these – a lot more – as we get closer to those updates."

343 Industries adds that new playlists are also coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, with the plans currently involving Team Snipers which will temporarily replace SWAT as the featured list, and a new Rumble Pit which will replace Halo 2: Anniversary Rumble.

An objective-only playlist is also planned for the future, with the community invited to offer feedback on the coming content.

Relic is getting Halo: The Master Chief Collection details

343 Industries has already announced that Relic from Halo 2 was set to be added to the Master Chief Collection and is ready to offer some information on the process.

It will fit 12 to 16 players and the first images are in the gallery attached to this article.

The new map is designed as a thank you for the community because they played Halo: The Master Chief Collection even shortly after launch, when it was affected by a range of major issues.

More details about Relic will be offered in the coming weeks but no launch date for it has been revealed so far.

343 Industries is also working on Halo 5: Guardians, which has just wrapped up its three-week beta and is set to be launched on the Xbox One during the fall of this year.
