The development team at 343 Industries is once again confirming that it plans to launch a new content update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection later during the week, with a number of changes set to be made to the user interface and other areas of the game.

A new update from the team adds, “Additionally, final tests are underway for the Halo 4 and Team Hardcore playlists, and we are aiming to make these available within the next few days. Team Hardcore will launch with Halo 2 Classic variants only, and Halo 3 maps and game types will be integrated in a future update. Other fan favorite playlists are also in the works, including Team Snipers, Team Doubles, an objective-only playlist, and more.”

At the moment, 343 Industries is still not ready to offer a full list of the changes that will be part of the coming title update, but a full changelog will probably be offered when Halo: The Master Chief Collection is actually updated.

The studio is also promising that other teams are working on more updates, which are designed to improve matchmaking, parties and other elements of the game that the community has been complaining about.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched in rough shape in November, and since then 343 Industries and Microsoft have delivered a lot of updates to try and make the game playable for everybody.

The two companies are saying that the complexity of the package did not allow them to eliminate all bugs prior to launch.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection fans will get free content

In the coming weeks, gamers will get access to more free content if they played Halo: The Master Chief Collection during its difficult launch period.

Gamers can already claim a one-month free period of Xbox Live Gold and exclusive in-game nameplate and avatar.

They will also get access to a free update which will introduce all ODST content to Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

At the moment, 343 Industries is also dealing with the beta period of Halo 5: Guardians, which is set to be launched on the Xbox One during the fall of this year.
