The development team at 343 Industries is not done improving the multiplayer element of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and the most recent announcement is that the Halo: CE experience is now part of the official playlists.

The official update post on Halo Waypoint states that “As mentioned before launch, we held this playlist until additional gameplay improvements could be made to Halo: CE, and many of these improvements were included in our most recent content update. The playlist is now available. As we mentioned before launch, the Halo: CE playlist will be premiering at 2v2 based on community feedback.”

Changes might be made to the Halo: CE playlist in the future, as gamers get to experience it and then can offer suggestions to the development team.

It’s unclear if the studio has plans to introduce other changes to the playlists in the coming days or if it will allow the community to play the current line-up during the Christmas and the New Year periods and will only then see what modifications can be implemented.

343 Industries has pledged to make sure that the multiplayer of Halo: The Master Chief Collection reaches the quality level that the community expected before launch.

The leader of the studio has also talked about the possibility to compensate players who have stuck with the title despite its issues since it was first introduced on the Xbox One on November 11.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is just a prelude

The problems that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is currently facing pose a long-term threat to the franchise, which is trying to make the transfer to the new Xbox One hardware.

343 Industries and Microsoft are at the moment working on Halo 5: Guardians, which is expected to arrive in the fall of 2015, and that title needs to be as close to perfect as possible on launch day.

A beta period will start on December 29 and will last for three weeks, allowing gamers to explore all the changes made to gameplay, including the Smart Scope and the sprint feature.

Only those who have bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection will have access to the testing period and will be able to deliver feedback to 343 Industries.

Microsoft will also aim to offer more additional entertainment linked to the series, like the Nightfall live-action series, but for now no clear plans have been announced.
