The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are confirming that they have done a lot of work on the May update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is supposed to deliver both the Relic map and the ODST campaign, but they are not ready to offer an official launch date yet.

The classic map will be re-mastered as Remnant in Halo 2: Anniversary, according to a new official Halo Waypoint post.

The company also delivers an in-depth explanation about the way it is tweaking the playlists for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which now include the Team Objective, with a selection of the most popular content associated with the four core titles in the series.

SWAT is also here to stay, and all future changes will continue to be based on the feedback from the fan base.

Some playlists are also getting new maps and 343 Industries adds, "Burial Mounds to Halo 2 Classic (as well as Team Objective), Exile and Harvest CTF to the Halo 4 playlist, and Longest to Team Slayer, and also reduced the occurrence of Team Slayer BR on Warlord in H2A."

The developers are stating that the May update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection will introduce changes to the ranking system, although details are not yet offered.

More tweaks to playlists might be made in June and over the rest of the summer.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is running a new championship season

343 Industries and Microsoft are also running a new Championship Season for the shooter collection, which gives players a chance to qualify for one of the real world events online, as long as they've got the required skills.

The finals will take place in the last few days of June and gamers can win total prizes of 50,000 dollars (42,000 Euro).

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has managed to get rid of most of the problems that affected it when it launched on the Xbox One in November of last year.

343 Industries and Microsoft are now focusing their resources on Halo 5: Guardians, which will arrive in the fall of the year.

At that point, many players might also want to pick up Halo: The Master Chief Collection in order to get a clearer image about the past of the franchise.
