Halo 5: Guardians will be the big launch for the Xbox One in the fall, and even as the company is offering more information on the single-player campaign, it is also making more general gameplay improvements that will be mostly felt in multiplayer.

Josh Holmes, who leads the team at 343 Industries, has been offering some insight into the development process for the game on his Twitter account, answering questions from the fans.

The big reveal is that the company is working on a new audio mix for Halo 5: Guardians, which is designed to have more positional features and make it more interesting to listen to how a level sounds during combat.

The developer says that the system gamers have experienced during the beta period was only temporary and that there are also improvements which are currently being tested.

343 Industries wants to give gamers reasons to listen to the world around them in order to gain clues about the position of enemies, which can then be used to formulate a solid plan for action.

Josh Holmes is also saying that the company has been thinking about an active reload system, similar to that seen in Gears of War, but a lot of balancing work would be required, which means that it might not be ready for Halo 5: Guardians.

Moreover, it has been revealed that a spectator mode with a range of new features will be included when the shooter launches.

Halo 5: Guardians aims to deliver an emotionally charged story

For a while, the development team has been focusing on the origins of Master Chief and the elements of his backstory that fans should question.

Two live-action trailers for Halo 5: Guardians have already been launched, suggesting that the team aims to show the same set of events from two very different perspectives.

Fans believe that time travel or alternate realities might play an important role in the single-player story.

343 Industries has said that it has gathered a lot of data from the multiplayer beta for Halo 5: Guardians and it is planning to make changes based on it.

One of them will allow fans to eliminate all Spartan abilities when they are playing custom games.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out only on the Xbox One on October 27 of this year.
