An art book and a Twitter message are used to prove that the title will be offered sooner than anyone thinks

Halo 5: Guardians is the biggest title to launch on the Xbox One during 2015 and the game is very important to those who have followed the franchise since it was first created by Bungie, as they are eager to see how Master Chief will perform on the new hardware platform from Microsoft.

A new rumor, which seems to have started on this thread on the official forum, is saying that the title will be introduced on August 11 in order to arrive at the same time as a big art book for the series which will contain concept art and other data that could help the community piece together the plot of the title.

In order to avoid spoilers, Microsoft would have to deliver both products at the same time, breaking a long-standing tradition of launching its biggest titles later in the year.

August 11 is indeed a Tuesday, which means it’s a potential launch date for video games, but Microsoft has not made any announcement about the release window for Halo 5: Guardians.

The August 11 theory is boosted by a Twitter message from Josh Holmes, the leader of the team working on it; yet, a closer look at his wording seems to confirm that there are plenty of spoilers in the art book associated with the series, but that there are no plans to cater to the needs of fans who might be worried about reading them before they experience the new Master Chief story.

Halo 5: Guardians just went through a major beta stage, time is needed for changes

However, the biggest argument against a launch date outside of November is the fact that 343 Industries has been talking about the major changes it plans to introduce to Halo 5: Guardians based on the data and the feedback it has gathered during the recently concluded testing period.

The studio says that it has made the decision to allow players to turn off all Spartan abilities when they create a custom game and that they are working to improve the balance of weapons, the way the user interface works, the matchmaking process, and the way CSR is used to track the players' progress.

All these changes, as well as the finishing touches linked to the core story, will require time and a launch date will probably only be announced in the summer and will point to a Tuesday in November, when Halo 5: Guardians will be delivered on the Xbox One.
