It looks like HTC is set to take on the Chinese market with a considerable number of high-end and mid-range Android smartphones.

Several have been spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, but more might appear in the next couple of weeks.

Still, it will be interesting to see how many of these smartphones will be available outside China once they are released on the market.

The last on the list of unannounced smartphones that are supposedly coming in China soon is the HTC WF5w. Obviously, this is just a codename used internally, so expect it to be released on the market under a different name.

What we do know is that the HTC WF5w is likely to be a mid-range smartphone, which will probably be released under the Desire logo.

According to the filing at TENAA, the smartphone measures 158.7 x 79.7 x 7.49 mm, which makes it very sleek. It will also weigh 152g, which is not that bad considering HTC WF5w is in fact a phablet rather than a standard smartphone.

The phone sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. HTC WF5w is expected to ship with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

It will be equipped with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAMa nd 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Another interesting piece of information is the fact that HTC WF5w will come with a more than decent 13-megapixel camera in the back with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a no-less-impressive 13-megapixel camera in the front.

HTC WF5w features TD-LTE support, which isn't surprising since it will be offered by one or more Chinese carriers. No word on pricing and availability yet, but stay tuned for more on this one.
