HTC delayed the release of its flagship smartphones for a few days in order to fix an issue that would overheat the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset inside the M9.

Benchmarks published before the official launch of the HTC One M9 on the market pointed to a higher than normal temperature for the smartphone and few believed that this might be fixed with a software update.

It turns out that HTC told the truth, and the latest software update having reached the M9 a few days before the smartphone hit shelves seems to have fixed the overheating issues.

This is the main reason the HTC One M9 has been launched on the market in Taiwan, the first country to get the flagship smartphone.

Fans living in this country will now be able to grab the high-end smartphone for around $700. Keep in mind that the price is only for the 32GB model, which is the only one available on the market right now.

However, HTC promised that a 64GB version would be launched as well in the not-so-distant future, which would cost around $730 outright.

Taiwan gets it first, but other countries will follow in the coming days

The One M9 is expected to make it to Europe in the next couple of days, while in North America it is likely to hit shelves next month.

HTC already confirmed that the One M9 should be available for purchase in the United States on April 10, so pre-orders should start very soon.

HTC One M9 will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Sense 7.0 user interface.

We have already mentioned earlier that it's equipped with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone comes in two variants (32GB / 64GB) and both pack microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

The One M9 sports the same 5-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating and full HD (1080p) resolution.

It's also worth mentioning that it boasts a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and 4K video recording (but not OIS), as well as 4-UltraPixel camera in the front. The 2840 mAh battery inside is non-removable.
