HTC will soon be going through a very busy period, as the device maker is expected to introduce its upcoming flagship Hima (One M9) on the grounds at MWC 2015 in Barcelona.

The company is also looking to copy Xiaomi’s successful online business model by opening an eStore in Taiwan next week, from where customers will be able to order several of its handset products.

HTC wants to put Firefox on its phones

Well, it appears that’s not all HTC is doing. According to the latest information posted by Twitter account @upleaks, HTC developers are working on porting Firefox OS to a variety of upcoming devices.

Surely, Firefox OS isn't exactly the most popular mobile OS, but even so Mozilla seems to persist in the belief that users will eventually want the fiery operating system plastered on top of their handsets and tablets.

It seems like HTC is looking for ways to diversify its product lineup like it did last year. The company built a bunch of MediaTek-based Android smartphones then. So it’s not all that shocking that the device maker is looking to take up the distribution of Firefox OS handsets.

For the time being, Mozilla hasn't convinced a whole lot of manufacturers to put Firefox OS on their respective handsets. LG, ZTE, Huawei and Alcatel are the most notable players which have given Firefox a go.

Most devices running this particular operating system are pretty low-specced and selling for budget prices.

The LG Fx0 is a very geeky device

The only Firefox OS smartphone worth mentioning here is the LG-made Fx0 which boasts an interesting, transparent shell and has a home button decorated with Firefox’s own logo.

The phone has a 4.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution (312 ppi) and runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with four 1.2GHz Krait 300 cores and Adreno 306 GPU fitted with 1.5GB of RAM.

Sadly, you can’t find this phone on the international market, as LG only sells it in Japan.
