Chromebooks are usually inexpensive machines with mid-range specs, but some models don’t fall under this standard.
For example, the Acer Chromebook CB5 is the odd ball out. It usually sells for a more expensive $299 / €249 price tag, but that’s because it’s better in the performance department.
We managed to track the down the model at IFA 2014 and even played with it a little, and I can tell you the Chromebook performs quite beautifully. That’s because the laptop relies on an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and you can see the difference.
The laptop also packs a 13.3-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, making it one of the best Chromebook models available so far.
Anyway, if so far you were put off by the hefty price tag, you should know Amazon is currently offering the Chromebook CB5 with $100 / €78 off. This means you can pick the device up for only $199 / €160, while the promotion lasts.
The particular model up for grabs is offered with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and is said to offer a battery life span of 11 hours.
It’s a pretty sweet deal considering the specs of the Chromebook and Amazon says it can ship it out just in time for Christmas.
