A brand new preview comes with plenty of details

A brand new report has just appeared online, claiming that Grand Theft Auto 5 runs at a 1080p full HD resolution on the PlayStation 4 platform, although it's unclear how it will perform on the other new console, Microsoft's Xbox One, and what its framerate will be.

GTA 5 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, even though it already appeared back in September of 2013 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The upcoming re-release is set to debut on the PS4 and Xbox One this November, but in the classic style of developer Rockstar Games, very few actual details are known right now, despite only a few weeks separating fans from its release.

New details are surfacing

Thankfully, a few printed magazines have managed to offer some previews about the upcoming open world sandbox experience, starting with OPM, via Gamepur, which brings forth a few technical details about the new Rockstar title.

First and foremost, it seems that GTA 5 will run at a native resolution of 1080p when it officially drops on the PS4 platform later next month.

According to the magazine, the title has increased draw distance, to make the world feel more alive, around 100 new songs that are included in the already beefy soundtrack, plenty of new animals and wildlife, as well as an overhauled GTA Online multiplayer mode.

Plenty of visual improvements are included

Besides the new native resolution that makes the whole game look much crisper and less blurry, the magazine also confirms that all the textures have been reworked in Grand Theft Auto 5 for its next-gen debut. The attention to detail has been so great that even the separate nuts on a truck's wheel can be distinguished.

What's more, ambient occlusion is now included in the game, in order to ensure not only better rendering but also a richer color depth to the wide-range palette. Throw in the aforementioned increased draw distance, not to mention the reduced vehicle pop-in, and players will have a much better time exploring Los Santos and Blaine County in Grand Theft Auto 5.

Rockstar hasn't confirmed some of these details

Unfortunately, while the source is relatively reputable, Rockstar Games has yet to confirm the performance figures of GTA 5 on the PS4 or Xbox One, so take these new statements with a grain of salt until the developer steps forward and presents actual details.

Expect to hear more as we get closer to the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5 on PS4 and Xbox One on November 18 worldwide. A PC edition is also set to debut in early 2015.
