We do not know anything official about the future of the Grand Turismo series on the PlayStation 4 from developer Polyphony Digital or from publisher Sony, but a retailer listing suggests that a spin-off title might be in development at the moment.

An electronics retailer from Croatia is listing a new Gran Turismo Sport as coming to the PS4 and is even taking pre-orders for it, which might be a sign that the title will be launched before the end of 2015, according to GT Planet.

This might just be a mistake, but the company has an exclusivity deal with Sony and might have simply made public an offer that will be announced officially by the company in the coming days or weeks.

Gran Turismo Sport would be a perfect title for the publisher to announce during its E3 2015 conference, in order to make sure that it attracts the attention of a large number of racing game fans.

Rumors about a spin-off title were reported previously during the year but were neither confirmed nor denied by the development team at Polyphony Digital.

Gran Turismo Sport might be a game that focuses more on cars specifically designed for competitive races and offers a smaller variety of vehicles than a traditional entry in the series.

Sony has suggested that Polyphony Digital was exploring the ways in which the PlayStation 4 would allow them to push the racing game genre forward.

Forza Motorsport 2 is coming before the end of the year

Recently, Microsoft and Turn 10 have announced that they are planning to launch the new installment in their own racing series before the end of the year, with a cover that features the most recent Ford GT.

The two companies are also working with Porsche to make sure that its supercars are featured in the title.

Turn 10 is also promising that it will introduce a new physics system and will simulate more than 450 cars, with extensive customization options and full details for the interiors.

If Gran Turismo Sport turns out to be real, it will be interesting to see how the two racing franchises can use the power of the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
