14 DAY TRIAL // When Jennifer Lopez walked on the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2015 in perhaps the most revealing gown of the evening, a Zuhair Murad gown with a very risky cleavage, a very high slit in the front and the biggest cape ever, people were probably expecting some kind of wardrobe malfunction.
What they got instead was a comment from Jeremy Renner about how she was carrying her golden globes with her, on full display. The comment came smack in the middle of their presenting duties, as Jennifer was struggling to open the envelope with the name of the winner in the Best Actor – TV Miniseries or Movie category.
From Jennifer’s reaction (video below), Renner’s comment wasn’t scripted. Also from her reaction, she wasn’t offended or upset with him for putting her on the spot like that.
But many people were – and they took to social media to burn him on the stake for it. He was called everything from “Best Supporting Creep” to “breast-seeking robot,” and accused of body shaming Jennifer and of objectifying her, or at the very least, having a very stupid sense of humor because this was neither the time nor the place for the joke he made.
Jennifer defended him after the gala, saying she thought his comment was “very funny” and that it had made her “a little hot,” whatever she meant by that.
Renner too would like you to just chill with the criticism, writing on his Twitter: “A reminder not to take this [stuff] so serious.”
