Good news for all Google Play Music users who don’t own an All Access account, as it appears that you will now be able to upload up to 50,000 songs on the acclaimed service, which allows users to listen to their favorite artists on the web or on their mobile devices where Google Play Music is supported.

There’s no official announcement from Google about this sudden increase in cloud storage space, and one might question this piece of news because on the Google Play Music website it is still stated that you can upload up to 20,000 songs. However, once you sign up for the free music service and connect your Google account, you will see the notice below.

“Encore! Encore! Now you can upload up to 50,000 of your favorite songs and listen to them on your phone or on the web.” Once you click the “Got it” button, the notification will disappear and you can start uploading those awesome songs of yours on Google Play Music for free and listen to them on the go, wherever you are.

To upload your songs fast, we strongly suggest you to use the official Google Music Manager application, which runs on GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows computer operating systems. Of course, you can also import your music library from iTunes or Windows Media Player.

Please note that once you click the “Upload music” button, it will still state that you can only upload up to 20,000 songs, but this will probably be changed pretty soon.

UPDATE: Google confirmed that Google Play Music supports up to 50,000 songs for free!
