14 DAY TRIAL // After a recent rumor, Sony confirms that God of War 3 Remastered is official and is coming to the PS4 on July 14, bringing forth a native 1080p resolution, with improved textures, not to mention many other enhancements, while the studio is targeting a 60fps framerate.
God of War 3 launched on the PS3 quite a few years ago and really showed what Sony's console was capable of, delivering detailed textures, impressive visual effects, and a proper next-gen debut for the hack and slash series made by Sony Santa Monica.
Since then, the series received another installment in the form of God of War: Ascension, which added a multiplayer component to the recipe, but not much else has been heard about it in recent times.
God of War is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a PS4 debut
However, today, when the series marks 10 years since the debut of the first game back on the old PS2, Sony and its Santa Monica studio confirm that God of War 3 Remastered is going to launch for the PS4 platform with improved visuals and a variety of enhancements.
According to the official announcement on the PS blog, made by God of War 2 designer Cory Barlog, the remake of God of War 3 for the PS4 is going to delight fans through better visuals, the same epic scope of battles and bosses, not to mention modern staples of PS4 games, like a Photo Mode.
"This action packed thrill ride of a game will take series newcomers and regulars alike on a retina-popping thrill ride filled to the absolute brim with 1080p gameplay, silky smooth combat, earth-shaking weapons, bosses you simply have to face to believe, and an all-new new photo mode so you can share those most tender of God of War moments, like stabbing a Minotaur in the face, with your friends and loved ones," Barlog explains.
