None of them stick to the NVIDIA reference clocks

You would think that NVIDIA's OEMs would each release at least one version of the GeForce GTX 960 graphics card, but that is not the case. While some have done so, Gigabyte is not among them.

Apparently, NVIDIA's partners are making the best of this new product release. Unlike with other video boards, NVIDIA did not impose a period of no design customization.

Which is why OEMs have each released more than one card, with their proprietary coolers, PCB components, software apps, etc.

Gigabyte has three cards to offer, called GV-N960IXOC-2GD, GV-N960WF2OC-2GD and GV-N960G1 GAMING-2GD.

The custom-designed, overclocked Gigabyte GTX 960 cards

The GV-N960G1 GAMING-2GD is the most powerful one in the series. You may have already heard of it under its much more user-friendly name of GTX 960 G1.Gaming.

This card has a base GPU clock of 1,241 MHz and a GPU boost maximum potential of 1,304 MHz. For comparison, the reference GTX 960 reaches 1,127 MHz and 1,178 MHz, respectively.

The WindForce 3X cooler keeps temperatures in check here, a massive triple-fan cooling module also used on the GeForce GTX 970 G1.Gaming.

There are two DVI, three DisplayPort 1.2, and one HDMI 2.0 connectors available, which is unique to Gigabyte and allows for quad-display setups: three side by side, one on top, for full 4K surround view.

The second video card in the series, called GV-N960WF2OC-2GD, has a dual-fan WindForce 2X cooling a card with 1,216 MHz base GPU clock and 1,278 MHz GPU Boost clock. It also has FlexDisplay video outputs.

Finally, the GV-N960IXOC-2GD is a more compact board with normal display configuration of two DVI, and one of each HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 connectors. The cooler uses a single fan though, and you probably won't want to manually overclock it just to be safe.

Nevertheless, it is still factory-overclocked with 1,165 MHz / 1,228 MHz Base / Boost clocks for the GPU.

All three video boards have 2 GB of memory with 7,012 MHz frequency and controlled by the GPU through a 128-bit interface. Finally, the number of CUDA cores is 1,024 as usual.

Availability

The new Gigabyte graphics cards should be up for sale soon, if they aren't already, for just a bit over $200 / €200.
