Rod Fergusson, the new boss of Black Tusk Studios, Microsoft's internal team that's working on the next Gears of War game, once again shoots down rumors about a Gears of War: Marcus Fenix Collection on Xbox One, saying that only the new game will be presented at E3 2015 to the world.

The Gears of War saga has been a staple for the Xbox 360, and after developer Epic Games sold the rights to Microsoft, the large corporation let its Black Tusk Studios team work on a new installment in the franchise for the Xbox One, under the leadership of Gears of War Producer Rod Fergusson.

Marcus Fenix Collection rumors once again shot down by the developer

Now, seeing as how once again rumors of a Gears of War: Marcus Fenix Collection for the Xbox One have appeared, referencing last year's Halo: The Master Chief Collection that brought the classic Xbox and Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One, Fergusson steps up to shoot down the wild speculation.

On Twitter, he mentions that there's no Marcus Fenix Collection coming, but he also confirms that, at E3 2015 this June, the new Gears of War game will be presented to the world, so fans can look forward to that at least.

"I love the passion," Fergusson says about the desire of fans to see such a project become a reality, "but there’s no Marcus Fenix Collection. We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I'll see you at E3!"

Considering Halo 5: Guardians is coming this fall to Xbox One, and Black Tusk probably needs more time to work on the new game, don't expect Gears of War to launch for the new console this year. As such, it's likely that a 2016 debut, either in the spring or the fall, is going to be pinned onto the project from Black Tusk.
