Fans of the series will get a new perspective

Both rumors and actual information from sources linked to the development of Halo 5: Guardians are saying that Agent Locke, who was introduced in Halo: Nightfall, will play a major role in the coming title.

But it seems that Mike Colter, the actor who is playing the new character, initially knew almost nothing about the franchise and he actually sees this as an advantage and a way to create a stronger connection with gamers.

He tells IGN that "When you go into something like this… but if you’re a part of the fanbase, you have to separate that excitement from the job at hand, and approach it as an actor. The craft is different. You’re trying to understand the character and how to play him, and if you’re really excited it’s a hindrance."

Agent Locke is a tracker, and in Halo 5: Guardians, he will be on the trail of Master Chief and will probably be the man who finds him and then fights alongside him or against him, depending on the story that the developers are planning to tell.

So far, 343 Industries has not offered any details about the single-player campaign included in the coming shooter, but it is planning to launch a live-action trailer this week in the season finale of The Walking Dead on AMC.

Halo 5: Guardians might get a big ARG in the summer

343 Industries and Microsoft have also launched a new Hunt the Truth site, which is offering information about Master Chief, with the first audio log and clip suggesting that he might be seen as a traitor.

For the coming 12 weeks until E3 2015, the two companies will deliver more information about the game and might also introduce a massive ARG that uses some of the same ideas as I Love Bees did for Halo 2.

At the moment, Halo 5: Guardians does not have an official launch date, but we know that it will only be offered on the Xbox One and that there are plans to deliver more books associated with the franchise during the rest of the year.
