14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft confirms that Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to get Worms Battlegrounds on Xbox One as well as The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief and SSX for free as part of the Games with Gold program in December.
The Xbox Live Gold membership is required by Microsoft to access a wide array of features on both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, starting with the multiplayer mode and ranging to other such features. In order to sweeten the deal, for quite some time now the publisher has offered the Games with Gold program, which brings free titles to current subscribers across the Xbox 360, and more recently, on the Xbox One as well.
For the month of December, the company confirms on the Xbox Wire that three pretty solid titles will be available for free across the two home consoles. Xbox One users get Worms Battlegrounds, while Xbox 360 owners will receive The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief and SSX.
Worms Battlegrounds is coming to Xbox One
First up, Xbox One owners with active Gold subscriptions can get Worms Battlegrounds for free. The title is the latest in the long-running Worms franchise made by UK-based dev Team17 and once again delivers an addictive brawling experience. Take control of different Worm types, wield all sorts of crazy weapons, and take into consideration both the terrain as well as the other atmospheric factors in order to score killing blows against your foes.
Matches can be organized against bots but also against other real-world humans, especially since there will be plenty of people that are going to jump into the game between December 1 and December 31 in order to see if it is any good.
Xbox 360 users get two wildly different titles
On the Xbox 360, Microsoft is offering two wildly different titles. First up, there's The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief, which allows players to take control of the titular Raven, an art thief who explores 1960s Europe for all sorts of great items to steal. This game will be available as a free download between December 1 and December 15.
Afterwards, to get into the winter spirit, the studio also brings forth SSX, the reboot of the classic Electronic Arts franchise that delivers intense snowboarding action across all sorts of iconic mountain ranges and tracks. There's a wide variety of tricks that can be performed, so you can spend a lot of time with it once it becomes available, between December 16 and December 31.
