At the moment, there is a rumor that 2015 might be the year that Simon Cowell could bring The X Factor, his reality series which focuses on talent seeking, back to American television. The rumor is based on the fact that the Fox network has shown interest in reviving the series.

The Mirror speculates that Fox is already drawing up plans for a new series for 2015 of the show they canceled earlier this year due to disappointing ratings. Since then, Cowell, the man behind the whole idea for the show, has moved back to Britain, where he hosts the local version, along with other prominent figures in the English entertainment industry.

One insider says that “This is obviously fantastic news for Simon - all of the talks are going in the right direction for him to be back in America next year. He loves the States and he loved the show. It was a huge disappointment when it wasn't recommissioned last year. He is enjoying his stint back in Britain but the fact is, this is great news for him and his team.”

Others have slammed the report as pure speculation and that a return to Fox was highly unlikely since the show enjoyed modest ratings during the three seasons it aired Stateside, being beat by a similar show running on rival network, NBC, The Voice, still going on at the moment.
