The development team at Sports Interactive and publisher SEGA are getting into the Christmas spirit by launching a new patch for Football Manager 2015, labeled 15.2.0, in order to improve the match engine and other aspects of the title, while also eliminating a small number of remaining crashes.

The update will be automatically delivered via Steam and is compatible with older save games, although there are some competition-related changes that will only be implemented when a new campaign is launched.

The Football Manager 2015 patch is also introducing two new skins that can be applied for the core game and for the Classic mode.

Sports Interactive says that some rare crashes have been dealt with and the way goalkeepers are working has been changed to make them somewhat more effective.

There are also changes to the way crosses affect players positioning, and areas of Football Manager 2015 like competition setup, transfers and contracts, media interaction, player happiness and user interface are also improved.

The Editor associated with the game should also be easier to use for those who want to create particular situations for the teams they are managing.

Football Manager 2015 is a very complex game and that means it might take some time before it is clear how the overall player experience is impacted by the introduction of patch 15.2.0.

Sports Interactive will continue to offer support

The official announcement adds, “On behalf of all of Sports Interactive, we hope you enjoy the update and have plenty of time to play it over the forthcoming holiday period.”

The studio is very keen to make sure that no major imbalances appear in Football Manager 2015 and all gamers who have weird results should post about them on the official forums.

A big update for the game will be offered at some point in February 2015 in order to reflect the real world transfers that are made in the January window.

Sports Interactive will also integrate more gameplay tweaks.

Football Manager 2015 is not a revolution when it comes to the core gameplay but it has expanded the interactions that gamers can have with the media and their players and the impact of morale on performance.

There are also new tactics to choose from and the scouting system is more realistic.
