We reported early this month that developer Scott Cawthon might be launching a third Five Nights at Freddy game this year. The game was teased on the developer's website for a few weeks and now it looks like it's official.

Well, the game seems to have been recently listed on Steam Greenlight and awaits the necessary number of votes to be approved by Valve and eventually released on its digital distribution store.

It's a bit odd that a developer that already has two games listed on Steam has to go through Greenlight with the third one. That being said, fans of the series can now vote for Five Nights at Freddy's 3 on Steam Greenlight.

Judging from the success of the previous titles in the series, the third installment will probably be approved by Valve very soon.

A teaser trailer has been released as well

It remains to be seen when the game will be released, as developer Scott Cawthon doesn't share too many details on Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Here is a short description of the game, which should give fans some clues on what's to come:

“Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed it's doors, the events that took place there have become nothing more than a rumor and a childhood memory, but the owners of 'Fazbear's Fright:

“The Horror Attraction' are determined to revive the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for patrons, going to great lengths to find anything that might have survived decades of neglect and ruin. At first there were only empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll, but then a remarkable discovery was made... The attraction now has one animatronic.”

Along with the listing on Steam Greenlight, Scott Cawthon also released a teaser trailer for its upcoming game. You can watch it below if you're not an easy-to-scare person.
