Two weeks after the release of Firefox 35, the Mozilla devs have pushed the first update out the door and they have fixed a number of important crashes and various other problems.

A lot of users have jumped into the Firefox 35 bandwagon and a ton of distros have actually upgraded to the new browser, soon after its release.

Firefox 35 does feature some very nice options and functionalities, the most interesting of which is definitely the ability to place video and audio calls with other people, who don't even need to have the same browser.

Fixes, fixes, and more fixes

All the recent Firefox releases had patches that were made available soon after the initial release, and today is no different. If you are already using the latest Firefox, you only have to upgrade your system and you're golden. Also, you can check our report on the big launch that happened 13 days ago.

The latest release is full of fixes. The browser no longer crashes with the Enhanced Steam extension, a potential startup crash has been fixed, the Kerberos authentication now works as intended, a regression with the SVG / CSS animation has been fixed, Firefox no longer crashes with the Godaddy webmail, and the text selection is no longer broken if the user has a Right-to-left (RTL) version of Firefox.

These are just a few of the problems that have been corrected by the new Firefox. It might not seem like much, but it's likely more patches will land soon and the users who reported all of these problems are now much happier.

It's worth mentioning that the new Firefox Hello messenger can only be used for video and audio conversations. It does not support sending text, but that might come at a later time. Also, the other guy at the end of the line doesn't need to have a Firefox browser, just a browser that has  WebRTC support.

As usual, you can download Firefox 35.0.1 from Softpedia (Windows and Mac OS X versions are also available), but this is just the binary file. Linux users will have to wait until the latest update is made available in the repos, which should occur any day now.
