14 DAY TRIAL // Developer and publisher Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn reached four million registered accounts worldwide.
The company's massively multiplayer online role-playing game got off to a pretty bad launch, being universally panned for its badly designed player experience, but the developers rolled up their sleeves and got to work again, completely overhauling the game.
Since then, it's been seeing more and more attention, being now available on PC, as well as on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems from Sony.
The install base of the title has been steadily growing since its launch on the PS4, and now the total number reached four million accounts worldwide, across all platforms.
In order to celebrate the milestone, the publisher is kicking off a limited free login campaign, between February 27 and March 9.
Everyone who purchased the game and has a currently inactive account is eligible to take advantage of this campaign, making it the best opportunity to check out all the new content that Square Enix added to the game over the course of the last few months.
A great chance to catch up

If you plan on taking the chance to revisit Eorzea during this limited free login campaign, make sure to download the client software in a timely manner.
Patch 2.5 was just launched at the end of January, adding a ton of new content to the game, including new quests, locations, non-playable characters, and shiny loot.
In fact, there was so much content that Square Enix decided to release it in two parts, with the second piece landing sometime in March.
There is a lot of new content to explore, including the continuation of the MMORPG's main storyline, and the Golden Saucer, a massive in-game casino.
