We've announced earlier today, April 21, that the Fedora 22 Beta computer operating system is available for download and testing, bringing all sorts of new features, performance and stability improvements, as well as bug fixes.

Thus, we've prepared an in-depth screenshot tour for your viewing pleasure (see it at the end of the article or by clicking on the header image above). You can also download the Fedora 22 Beta Workstation Live DVD ISO images right now from Softpedia and test the distro.

Once again, Fedora 22 brags with all the cool GNOME 3.16 features, such as the redesigned GNOME-Shell notification system and Calendar Applet, GNOME Terminal notifications for completed jobs, Wayland login screen, as well as improvements to the Nautilus file manager.

In addition, Fedora 22 Beta Workstation features better notifications for its Automatic Bug Reporting Tool (ABRT), better Privacy controls in the GNOME Control Center, and better integration of GNOME Software as the default package manager for easy installation of codecs, fonts, etc.

Fedora 22 might see the light of day on May 26, 2015

Under the hood, Fedora 22 Beta offers Linux kernel 4.0, as well as better and faster dependency management when installing new packages, as the development team replaced the old-school YUM package manager with DNF, which provides users with similar command-line options compared to YUM.

Fedora 22 will be in final freeze stage starting May 12, which means that developers won't be able to upload any packages to the distribution, except for critical bug fixes, and that the final release of Fedora 22 will be only two weeks away and it might see the light of day on May 26, 2015.

In the meantime, we recommend you check out our Linux Homepage in the next days for more screenshot tour articles of the Fedora 22 Beta spins, including Fedora 22 Beta KDE, Fedora 22 Beta Xfce, Fedora 22 Beta LXDE, and Fedora 22 Beta MATE/Compiz.
