14 DAY TRIAL // By now you might already know out that TLC promptly decided to cancel Here Comes Honey Boo Boo reality series after Mama June was found out to be dating in secret the man who molested one of her daughters years ago.
While the media is still following the sordid story behind Mama June's poor parenting skills, fans are upset that the reality show was canceled and are saying that they already miss the show. It hasn't even been one week since TLC announced the fact that they were pulling Honey Boo Boo off the air and not even airing the episodes that had been shot over the summer, that a petition has landed online.
Fans want to keep some of the characters on screen, just not Mama June
The petition on Change.org is from fans who want a spinoff made from the reality show, one that would feature Uncle Poodle and Sugar Bear. The initiator of the petition wrote that “Giving Sugar bear and poodle their own show will keep the show going and not allow other stars in the show to be punished for one cast member's actions.”
It should be added at this point that there aren't that many people who agree with the initiator, since the petition had only 75 signatures at the moment the article was written. But fortunately for the Thompson family, this isn't the only positive response they've gotten from the public.
Other fans set up a Facebook page to keep Honey Boo Boo on the reality show
Other fans of the show have set up a Facebook page called “Make TLC Keep Honey Boo Boo,” indicating that they want the 9-year-old to still have her reality show.
You'll notice that none of the fans is defending Mama June, and that's because it's generally believed that she should have custody of her children removed from her after she went ahead and dated her child's rapist as soon as he came out of prison.
Photos published in the media in the last couple of days show Mama June out and about with convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, who went to jail for forcing himself on Anna Cardwell, June's older daughter, when she was 8 years old.
June vehemently denied meeting up with McDaniel, but reports from insiders and the photos proved that she was lying and that she went out house hunting with him, went on dates, and even bought him a car as a present.
A formal investigation was launched by local Child Protection Services, and depending on the result of that investigation, Mama June might well lose custody of her children.
