14 DAY TRIAL // Whitney Houston’s daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, the 21-year-old Bobbi Kristina, also known as Krissy, is now in hospital in critical condition after she was found unresponsive face down in the bathtub in the home she shares with her husband Nick Gordon.
Reports claim that she’s showing diminished brain activity and that the family has been warned to prepare for the worst, because a full recovery at this point would be a “miracle.”
Despite the initial report that no drugs were found at the scene “out in the open,” a more thorough search has revealed traces to support the theory that she might have OD’ed and fell face first in the water.
Family releases statement, doesn’t offer an update
Bobbi Kristina was rushed to the hospital over the weekend, after she was found unresponsive by Gordon and a friend. Paramedics were able to revive her at the scene, and she was put in a medically induced coma upon arrival at the hospital.
Reports claimed that she’d been deprived of oxygen for some time, so she might never be able to make a full recovery. Others even claimed that she was already in a vegetative state and might not survive.
Bobby Brown released a statement asking for prayers and for privacy at this difficult time. The Houston family has also released one some hours ago, saying about the same thing with a very important difference: Bobbi Kristina is “fighting for her life.”
“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family,” the statement to ET says. “As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”
Family source confirms existence of drugs in the house
Police will not offer updates on the case, as it’s still an ongoing investigation. However, responders did tell the media that there were no drugs “out in the open,” as if knowing that everyone would assume that the aspiring singer, much like her mother before her, had been battling addiction.
She’d already been hospitalized for drug-related issues before, in the weeks following her mother’s death, and she was always the subject of speculation that she never really got clean, no matter how much she professed to the contrary.
TMZ now confirms with a family source that police found drugs in her and Gordon’s house, and that they may have caused her near-drowning in the bathtub.
A second, more thorough search was performed in the house after the first one, and evidence was found indicating that Bobbi Kristina may have taken something before getting in the bathtub.
As it happens, her famous mother died almost 3 years ago in eerily similar circumstances: Whitney Houston was getting ready for Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party and, with too many drugs and pills in her system, got in the bathtub and drowned.
