14 DAY TRIAL // There is still hope left for Bobbi Kristina, the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown: almost 3 months after she was put in a medically induced coma, at a moment when even the doctors assigned to her case had lost hope, she came out of the coma and is now off life support.
News of this was broken by dad Bobby Brown in concert last night (video below) and confirmed by aunt Tina Brown on Facebook some hours ago. Bobbi Kristina is well on the road to recovery.
Bobbi Kristina is off life support, but not out of the woods yet
Bobbi Kristina was put in a coma on January 31, shortly after she was taken to the hospital after being found unresponsive, face-down in the tub of her Georgia home. She was revived at the scene but she’d been deprived of oxygen for considerable time, which is why doctors decided that this was the best method to ensure her vitals came back to normal.
There was just one attempt to bring her out of the coma, but she went into violent seizures and was put back in. Doctors informed the family that there was nothing more they could do for her, and that her recovery needed nothing short of a miracle.
Apparently, said miracle has happened.
According to Tina, Bobbi Kristina is out of the coma and off life support, but still a long way from making a full recovery, which is why she still needs prayers from all those who have been praying for her all along.
Still, this is an impressive development considering that doctors had lost hope and even believed that she was severely brain damaged from the prolonged lack of oxygen to the brain.
A tangled story
Bobby Brown is yet to issue an official statement on his daughter’s condition, and even the comment he made for the fans last night could be misleading, as you will see for yourself in the video. He says his daughter is “awake” and “watching” him, which could mean she’s there only in spirit, i.e., she’s still in a coma.
There’s also this to consider: ever since Bobbi Kristina’s accident, family members from both Whitney Houston and from Bobby Brown’s sides of the family have been selling their stories to the press and even trying to capitalize on the tragedy and people’s good will.
Tina Brown claims to have it on the best authority that Bobbi Kristina is awake and considerably improved, but she could be lying or exaggerating the truth just to get attention.
Had this amazing development really happened, one imagines it would have been addressed in a statement on Whitney Houston’s official website as well. So far, it hasn’t.
