The developers in charge of FIFA 15 at EA Sports are at the moment performing maintenance on the Ultimate Team mode and the Football Club section of the game, although the studio says that it is implementing a set of changes designed to make the overall gamer experience much better in the coming months.

The downtime for both services will end at around 4 AM Pacific Time today, and until then gamers are unable to access FIFA Ultimate Team, the web app, the mobile companion app, and the EA Sports Football Club.

Gamers can still play the core campaign modes and engage in classic multiplayer matches with friends and rivals.

The full list of changes that EA Sports is introducing to FIFA 15 and its infrastructure is detailed in full at the end of the article.

The focus is on making sure that connection trouble is eliminated, coins are delivered at the end of matches without any issues, and it’s more secure to get FIFA Points in the official store.

EA Sports also states, “We'll also continue to monitor any ongoing, or new, gameplay issues and add those for improvement in future updates.”

If the downtime for FIFA 15 Ultimate Team and Football Club is extended, the company will deliver information via its social media channels.

FIFA 15 relies on Ultimate Team mode to attract fans

Such a long downtime period for the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 15 is unusual and the community has reacted negatively to the most recent one, although some are happy to see that some long-standing problems with the core feature set are being addressed.

Since it was introduced, the mode has become a hit with players, who are able to choose the players they want and then assemble a collective that can challenge others online.

Packs for Ultimate Team are being delivered weekly, introducing the players who have performed best during matches for their club or country during the previous seven-day period.

EA Sports has also announced that starting today all those who want to use the FIFA 15 web app will be required to use login verification in order to make sure that their data remains secure in the long term.

A title update for the football simulation was recently launched, dealing with some bugs while also introducing changes to crosses and defensive placement.

We also have a full Softpedia review of FIFA 15.

UPDATE: Mainteance is done and everything seems to be running well.
