The Team of the Year for the Ultimate Team mode in FIFA 15 might be the most important reveal of the week for fans of the football sim, but the development team at EA Sports is determined to give them even more players to evaluate for their own line-ups with a new Team of the Week package which includes a wealth of very capable stars.

The attack line is led by Alexis Sanchez, who has been putting in a number of impressive performances for Arsenal this season, and he is joined by Francesco Totti, who seems to get better with age, and by Ruben Castro.

There are four players behind them ready to support both attack and defensive moves, all of them over 80 in terms of overall rating: Oscar, Isco, Iborra, and Joaquin.

The top performer here is clearly the Chelsea man, who has been pushing his team forward in the last few matches.

The three defenders that are part of the Team of the Week package for FIFA 15 are Jose Fonte, Nemanja Vidic and Caceres.

Finally, the goalkeeper slot is occupied by Ruffier and EA Sports is also offering a full complement of substitutes to give players some variety.

FIFA 15 aims to stay relevant in the long term

The football simulation has been pushing the Ultimate Team mode for the last few years, mainly because the revenue stream coming from it is very reliable and allows gamers to compete with their friends and rivals in the long term.

EA Sports is at the moment collecting data linked to the January transfer season, which is seeing a lot of players move from club to club across Europe, and an update which will bring them all to the virtual realm will arrive in February.

It’s unclear whether there are also plans to introduce gameplay changes next month, with gamers saying that pace and crosses need to be worked on to improve the overall experience.
