FIFA 15 Reveals Skill Upgrades for Tons of Players on Top of Winter Upgrades

The development team at EA Sports is announcing another big surprise for fans of FIFA 15, with a range of Skill Upgrades now delivered for the players in the football sim, on top of the Winter Upgrades that were introduced at the start of the current week.

The list in the official announcement is pretty big and includes both superstars of the game and a variety of smaller but useful names.

EA Sports states, "Skill Move Upgrades in FIFA Ultimate Team will match players’ current Skill Move rating in EA SPORTS Football Club Match Day as of February 20. Skill Upgrades apply to all versions of the players: in your Club, in-forms, new players in packs, etc."

This means that developers have taken into account a lot of real-world data in order to see which of the players have progressed substantially since FIFA 15 has launched, with the ultimate aim of making sure that the game is as close to the real sport as possible.

It's unclear if there are plans to introduce other changes for the title in the coming weeks or if the community will have to get used to the current stats for the players because it's unlikely that they will be changed in the future.

FIFA 15 relies on Ultimate Team for long-term engagement

At the moment, a lot of developers at EA Sports have moved to work on the next title in the FIFA series, and those who are still associated with last year's title are in charge of making sure that player engagement is as high as possible.

This means that they are delivering constant updates for Ultimate Team, mainly in the form of Team of the Week packages.

EA Sports is also launching more tutorial videos to keep the gameplay level of the community high and is recruiting professional players and music stars to show off their skills in matches.

Ultimate Team is important because it gives Electronic Arts a long-term revenue stream after the game launched and has generated its biggest sales.

A new FIFA title will probably be announced at some point in May and will get more details from the studio during E3 2015.
