The development team at EA Sports in charge of FIFA 15 announces that, at the moment, the copies of the game which were acquired from digital stores and downloaded are affected by an issue which is currently being investigated.

The official Twitter feed of the company is not offering more details on the problems and a subsequent message explains that Microsoft is already involved in the problem solving process, as the issue is currently affecting other games, and once again it apologizes for all inconveniences caused to players.

A lot of gamers are already commenting that they have already deleted their digitally-obtained copy of FIFA 15 and have since re-downloaded it, but the issues persist.

EA Sports is not offering any details on when the Xbox One problems will be eliminated and whether it plans to compensate fans in any way.

Publisher Electronic Arts has not said how many copies of FIFA 15 were digital-only purchases, so it's not clear how much of the player base is affected.

FIFA 15 requires quick fixes and updates

FIFA 15 is a very popular video game and that means that even a small issue with it on just one platform can result in a very big headache for Electronic Arts, especially if it takes long to solve it.

The company needs to keep the player base as satisfied as possible in order to make sure that they continue to play in the long term and remain interested in the real money purchase opportunities that are part of the Ultimate Team mode.

EA Sports is delivering new Team of the Week packages every week, showcasing the players that perform very well for either their team or their country.

The generated revenue has become very important for the publisher in the last few years, and it will continue to grow as more players become more interested in long-term multiplayer experiences than in single-player campaigns.

FIFA 15 is already one of the biggest releases of the year and EA Sports will deliver a major update for it at some point in February of 2015, in order to bring the title up to speed with all the transfers that took place during the winter.

The game is facing stronger competition than ever from Pro Evolution Soccer 2015, the Fox Engine-powered title from Konami, which this year has delivered a solid experience focused more on the tactical side of the game than on its spectacle.
