14 DAY TRIAL // Elite: Dangerous maker Frontier Developments announces a new game, Coaster Park Tycoon, meant to push the envelope of the theme park business tycoon genre.
The studio set the benchmark for tycoon games with its 2004 hit title, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, which went on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide. The franchise is considered one of the finest in the genre, and now Frontier Developments aims to reboot it, under a new name, and an entirely new IP.
The recently resurrected Atari made a similar attempt to pump some fresh blood into the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, but unfortunately, its Rollecoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile game received a lot of flak from the gaming community, which is still waiting for a good game to sate its thirst for simulation.
Perhaps RollerCoaster Tycoon World will be better, but one thing's for certain: original developer Frontier knows all the ropes and is likely to create something truly amazing.
The details on the game are currently very scarce, and apart from it being a pretty ambitious project due out sometime in 2016, nobody knows anything.
A bright future for simulation fans
In any case, the future looks pretty good for fans of the genre, with the upcoming Xbox One and Xbox 360 theme park simulator Screamride coming out in March, and with two potentially exciting games lined up for later this year and 2016.

Frontier Developments has recently released its highly anticipated space adventure game Elite: Dangerous, which will remain in development for the foreseeable future.
