Gamers will have to handle their characters carefully

The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that they are planning to introduce a range of new changes to the Champion system for The Elder Scrolls Online, designed to make sure that no gamers will lose progress and the playing field will remain fair for all those involved with the MMO.

The official forum announcement explains that the team already introduced modifications to the feature in December of 2014, but now they have received enough feedback to take another look at the entire system.

ZeniMax Online explains that “What we had decided was if you had at least one Veteran Rank character, you would get a total of 30 Champion Points for your account. The Veteran Rank wouldn’t matter; all players with at least one Veteran character would get the same amount of Champion Points.”

The biggest problem the community associated with The Elder Scrolls Online had with the changes was that high-rank Veterans would lose progress in the Champion space.

To address the issue, the team is introducing another set of changes that can be seen by pushing the button at the bottom of this article.

ZeniMax Online offers quite a few examples to make sure that all those playing The Elder Scrolls Online understand what the changes mean.

They add, “We’d like to thank everyone for your feedback. We believe the system outlined above still meets our goals for the initial rollout of the Champion System while also addressing some of the more pressing concerns.”

The Elder Scrolls Online might go free-to-play soon

The Bethesda MMO is at the moment rumored to be ready to move to a free-to-play business model, but no official announcement about the switch has been made.

This would probably draw a bigger audience to the title but might pose problems for long-term fans who have already invested plenty of money into the monthly subscription.

At the same time, a launch date of February 24 was briefly posted for the Xbox One version of The Elder Scrolls Online, but has since then been eliminated by Microsoft.

The console launch of the MMO was supposed to take place in April 2014, but it has since been delayed multiple times, with sources claiming that the developers cannot fit all the game mechanics on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
