Video game developer DICE, publisher Electronic Arts and the ESL organization announce that they are planning to organize some big Battlefield 4 eSports tournaments in 2015, all of them designed to build on the solid foundation laid by the competitions that took place last year.

The official announcement says that for the American market three seasons are being planned, each of them offering 6,500 dollars (5,000 Euro) in prizes, and the winners will be able to get a place in the Global Finals which will take place in Cologne, Germany.

The three companies have revealed that they also have plans for Oceania and that "the ESL One Battlefield 4 2015 Spring Season campaign will commence in the third week of February where a team will be crowned champions over the course of five weeks. They will then fly to Germany to compete against seven of the world’s best teams at the ESL One finals."

The Domination game mode will be the one used in the ESL Battlefield 4 competition and the full schedule is also featured on the official site of the shooter.

DICE has long-term plans for Battlefield 4

With the launch of Battlefield Hardline less than one month away, it is really encouraging to see that Electronic Arts and the ESL do have long-term plans for eSports involving the previous titles in the series.

The developers at DICE have also announced that they are working on a big Winter Patch for the shooter, which is supposed to be offered in the middle of March, but so far no information has been offered on what changes they are planning to make.

The studio asks all interested players to offer feedback in order to have a clear image of what the community wants from the future of Battlefield 4.

They are also aiming to work with players, for the moment those who are part of the Premium service, in order to create a new map which is based on the desires of the fans.

It will be first tested on the official CTE servers and will be then offered for free to all those who are playing Battlefield 4 later in the year.
