Russia is trying to form an enclave away from US mobile tech giants like Apple or Google, which are accused of holding an unfair monopoly over the mobile ecosystem.

But the country is also extremely concerned with privacy. Back in August 2014, news came in that Russian Railways, the national railroad operator has partnered up with IT experts at the Sarov Nuclear Center in the mid-Volga area in order to develop Russia’s very own Linux-based operating system called “Synergy.”

A super private Android phone for business users is in the works in Russia

Nevertheless, Russia is eyeing the mobile ecosystem too. A new report coming out of Myce claims that native company Taiga Systems is currently working towards bringing a smartphone with a super secure version of Android on the market.

Taiga System is owned by mother company InfoWatch where Natalya Kasperksy currently activates. She is one of the founders and ex-CEO of well-known security company Kaspersky Labs.

According to Alex Nagorny, co-owner of Taiga Systems, the handset is built in such a way so as not to transmit info related to the devices, photos, documents, telephone conversations and location data without the user’s knowledge.

Another feature implies the phone being shut off for good when the device get turned off, compared to mainstream phones that are only in standby. This means that the GSM module is still active and allows the users’ location to be recorded on base stations.

Owners of the new phone will be given the option to switch off the microphone camera and turn off the internet, thus leaving only the possibility of making phone calls open. It seems like even drug dealers in the UK would love this phone too.

Interestingly enough, the handset will come equipped with Google Play which is considered pretty safe, so users will be able to download all the applications they need.

However, in the eventuality that an application wants to turn on the mic or send out a message, the user will be alerted of a security breach via a visual alarm.

Information about the phone’s specifications hasn’t been revealed just yet. Furthermore, we don’t have any indication when the device will start appearing on the market.
