Turtle Rock Studios, the developer behind the recent Evolve first-person shooter, confirms that two new free maps are coming as downloadable content to the multiplayer game at the end of March, for the Xbox One version, and at the end of April for the PC and PS4 editions.

Evolve rolled out at the beginning of February and finally brought forth its ambitious multiplayer shooter experience that combines cooperative mechanics, as four hunters need to work together, and a competitive system, as they go up against a human-controlled monster.

The title included quite a few characters and three different monsters, not to mention an array of maps that brought forth some varied landscapes.

Two new free maps are coming to Evolve

Now, Turtle Rock confirms on its website that it's going to bring two new maps for free to Evolve in the following months, in the form of Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry.

First up, Broken Hill Mine, like the name suggests, takes place in an old mine that connects three open spaces. One represents a rocky quarry, the other takes form as a venom hound nest, and the last zone has a big conveyor belt running though it. Destructible entryways, varied paths, and closed tunnels guarantee interesting experiences.

What's more, when played in Evacuation mode, the new map brings two special effects. If hunters win, the mining drones get turned into shield drones for the next match, and if the monster wins, causes periodic earthquakes that makes birds fly all over the place, leading to confusion for hunters.

Broken Hill Foundry includes actually several distinct foundries to form an industrial complex filled with open areas, corridors, and low ceilings. Monsters and hunters can stay hidden but also explore the rooftops in search of one another.

The Evacuation effects include supercharged jetpacks when hunters win, or more powerful melee attacks for when monsters emerge victorious.

The two new maps arrive for free in Evolve on March 31, for the Xbox One version, and April 30, for PC and PS4.
