Evernote is another popular application that finally got the Material Design look that Google imposed with the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

According to developers, the “visual refresh supporting Google’s Material Design principles” included in the update bring “a flatter look, bolder colors, and improved typography.”

But aside from the total design makeover, Evernote for Android also got a few new features and improvements meant to make the application more user-friendly and smoother.

The sixth version of Evernote incorporates developers' newer collaborative features in a smoother and more natural way. The note view will now show a picture of a colleague to communication their presence in shared notes.

Lots of tweaking and under-the-hood changes have been added

Long-time Evernote users will notice that there are now new features available, like customizable quick notes, which allow them to add or remove quick note options by long pressing on them.

The navigation has been revamped, so Evernote users will benefit from simpler navigation drawer with direct access to shortcuts. Then there's an improved note editor and note view with cleaner layout and controls.

The tags are now editable tags, so you will be able to rename or delete them. Last but not least, numerous bug fixes and enhancements have been included in the update as well, but no additional details have been provided on any of them.

If you don't have the application installed yet, you can now download Evernote for Android 6.0 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.

Keep in mind that some features might not be available in the free version of Evernote, but the premium app offers all the features included such as the option to add a PIN lock and take notebooks offline to access them anytime.
