The Common Sense expansion for Europa Universalis IV sounds like the most expansive one to arrive for the grand strategy title since it was launched and the development team at Paradox is ready to offer some more details about the way interactions with vassals and others will be tweaked.

The forum announcement explains that gamers will be able to use the subject screen in order to change the name and the adjective associated with colonial nations, which makes it easier to customize massive empires.

A new Send Officers option is added for Protectorates, with the team saying, "the overlord will pay an additional 33% of that nations land maintenance costs. However, their Liberty Desire is reduced by 10% as long as its on, and they get +20% Land Morale and +5% Discipline."

Gamers can also choose to activate a divert trade command in Europa Universalis IV - Common Sense to get all the trade power of a protectorate, although that means they will desire to become free.

Territory can also be seized, even if that move will have a very negative impact on relations and gamers should think carefully about its use.

For Colonial Nations, there's a new option to change its governor as long as liberty desire is under the 50 percent mark.

Europa Universalis IV will include more colonial wars

Nations in Europe that have overseas subjects also have the option to determine them to launch a colonial war, which is a great way to expand territory as Common Sense gives them CB against primitive nations around them.

Paradox is also allowing players to basically trade inflation for an increase in trade power for companies they control.

When Common Sense launches gamers who do not pick it up will get a big free patch with full notes probably set to be offered next week.

The expansion will be introduced on June 9 on digital distribution services.

Paradox has already said that it will tweaks a number of other core mechanics for Europa Universalis IV, including the way war is conducted, the actions that appear when diplomacy is initiated and the way provinces can be improved in the long-term via buildings.
