Dropbox has just announced its iOS application will be updated with new features and improvements. The most important seems to be the ability to comment, which wasn't available in any other version of Dropbox for iOS.

According to developers, Dropbox users on iOS will be able to add comments on files via the website. Basically, you will now be able to comment on any files stored on your iPhone of iPad, assuming you updated to the latest version of Dropbox.

But that's not all. Dropbox for iOS now features “recent tabs,” which is a list of all the files you have used recently, including anything that you have viewed, uploaded, renamed, edited, on any of your devices or on Dropbox website.

Furthermore, the official changelog also mentions that developers have added 1Password login extension support to create or access 1Password items.

Last but not least, the latest update for Dropbox for iOS brings some under-the-hood changes to make the application more reliable.

Create Microsoft Office docs from within Dropbox, in the next few weeks

Now that we've mentioned everything that has been included in this update, let's see what developers plan to add in future updates.

Well, Dropbox users will be pleased to know that developers plan to implement the ability to create Microsoft Office docs directly from Dropbox for iOS.

Developers also confirmed that all the Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files created will be saved into any Dropbox folder you were when you tapped “Create document,” so you will be able to access it later from any of your other devices on the web.

According to Dropbox makes, the ability to create Microsoft Office documents within the app will be rolled out to iOS users in the next few weeks.

You can now download Dropbox for iOS for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by iOS 7 and up.
