We might be getting an exciting video game announcement soon, according to the director of Dragon's Dogma, Hideaki Itsuno.

The news comes from the Japanese video game magazine Dengeki PlayStation, who featured a questionnaire with over 100 game developers, outlining what the future holds in store for fans of Japanese productions, as Gematsu reports.

Dragon's Dogma Director Hideaki Itsuno said that his team at Capcom had several projects in its pipeline for the foreseeable future, and that one of them was even in the final stages of pre-production, and that an announcement would be coming soon.

The Dragon's Dogma Online trademark was filed for last week, so we might be getting that announcement sooner rather than later. The trademark was registered in Europe and came right after the official Dragon's Dogma website reportedly teased something about a sequel.

Dragon's Dogma was an action role-playing game released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012, and it went on to sell over 1 million copies during its launch month.

The game was generally praised for its great fantasy setting and open world experience, but the thing that won the most praise was its boss encounter design, with engagements considered by many some of the best in role playing game history.

We'll be on the lookout for any related news and will come back with the info as soon as it drops.
