Publisher Bandai Namco has released an English trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse, setting up the stage for the upcoming events and highlighting some of the action in the brawling adventure game.

The trailer is an extended version of the previous showings, offering a detailed look at what you can expect to experience in the next installment in the long-standing series, and showing how you will be the hero that shapes the destiny of the Dragon Ball world.

The upcoming game is not part of the official Dragon Ball canon, but is instead based on a brand new universe, enabling fans of the series to explore a new storyline with exciting twists, offering a fresh experience.

This time, you are the hero

Gamers will be able to create their own character when playing the brawling video game, and then choose one of the original characters in the series as master. Depending on your choice, you will be able to learn various special attacks, and gain access to your master's costumes.

The player-created character comes with his own backstory, and is an agent from the future that will change the events of the past. The character creation tool enables users to tweak a wealth of options, in order to allow players to make their own unique character, the one that suits them best.

Furthermore, many costumes from throughout the series will also be available for your character to use, and you'll be able to learn a lot of classic moves and them employ them in battle while fighting to restore the timeline and fight whoever is trying to erase the Dragon Ball heroes from history.

A lot of new and exciting stuff

The game will feature a wealth of action, including challenging one-on-one showdowns and massive group battles. Developer Dimps is familiar with action-packed games, and fans of the Budokai series of Dragon Ball Z games will no doubt enjoy the fast-paced cocktail that's waiting for them.

In addition to this, the developer intends to introduce a couple of tweaks to the gameplay, offering a fresh experience to long-standing fans of the DBZ games, and enabling them to witness all the incredible battles from throughout the series' history, between Goku and some of his biggest enemies, including Cell, Vegeta, Frieza, and many others.

The game will be set in a new world, featuring a mysterious futuristic city and a lot of surprises. Not only will you be able to create your own character, but you'll also be able to spice things up, not being restricted to only choosing an Earthling, but instead being offered the liberty to opt for a Majin, Namekian or some other race.

The game is coming out in 2015, for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One home consoles from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems from Sony. Additionally, a PC version will also be launched on Steam.
