Bioware has just announced that it is making 10 of the most popular Skyhold tavern songs included in Dragon Age: Inquisition available for free for a limited time.

In addition, the developer announced that it would also release the sheet music for each track, so that fans can record their own renditions of these songs. The idea would be to submit these new renditions to the Dragon Age Fan Celebration Contest.

According to Bioware, these free Skyhold tavern songs will be available for free only until February 9, 2015. After that, they will be put on sale on various digital platforms.

These songs are performed by singer and songwriter Elizaveta and written by Inon Zur (Dragon Age: Origins) and film and television composer Raney Shockne, who also composed for popular movies like Anger Management, The Back-Up Plan.

The songs can be downloaded beginning today

For those who wish to take advantage of the offer right now, Bioware has made the Dragon Age: Inquisition Tavern Songs available for download on the game's official website.

They are about 27MB in size and are archived in .zip format, so make sure you have installed an application that will allow you to extract them from the archive.

The reason for this nice surprise may be hidden in the giveaway description: “even an Inquisitor needs some downtime for relaxing once in a while. If you've indulged in the opportunity at Skyhold's tavern to enjoy a break from the demons and Venatori, chances are you've heard some of the bard's lovely songs.

“Although bards do perform to entertain travelers, they also serve a greater purpose: to carry the tales of triumph and tragedy across the land.”

If you're a music lover, make sure you download these tavern songs in the next two weeks, otherwise you will have to pay for them after February 9. What do you think about Bioware's incentive?
