BioWare confirms that at least some of the planned downloadable content packs for Dragon Age: Inquisition are going to deliver new single-player adventures and things to do within the actual Inquisition that's formed by the protagonist of the new title.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the next big entry in the medieval fantasy role-playing game series from BioWare, introducing a new protagonist, in the form of the Inquisitor, which needs to stop a cataclysmic event while rallying the many nations that inhabit the virtual world of Thedas.

The RPG already offers over 100 hours of content, not to mention a multiplayer mode that's quite impressive and can easily occupy the time of fans who want a change of pace from the story campaign.

Inquisition's add-ons will excite fans

In case you forgot, however, BioWare has already pledged to bring forth downloadable expansions, and while talking with Microsoft's Larry Hryb in the latest podcast, the General Manager of the studio's Edmonton division, Aaryn Flynn, has confirmed that the add-ons will be quite exciting.

More specifically, Flynn believes that there are plenty of opportunities in the Dragon Age universe to tell more stories and present other things than those seen in the actual campaign.

Some of these new things will involve the Inquisition formed by the protagonist in order to save the world, so they could include new ways to use your forces, both in the actual campaign as well as in the multiplayer mode.

"It’s great for us to be able to bring out additional content for Dragon Age, even though it’s a really big game, there’s always new opportunities in the universe to tell more stories and to present interesting new things. It’s nice because this helps us get content out earlier that we normally would, so that’s exciting," he mentions, via DualShockers.

"I can’t talk about the little details of what you’re gonna do in this adventure yet, but it is pretty cool. I think people are going to appreciate it as even more to do in the Dragon Age Universe especially inside Inquisition."

Multiplayer add-ons are also expected

Considering the success Mass Effect 3's cooperative multiplayer had with its free add-ons that brought fresh characters, maps, or weapons, you can also expect BioWare to debut multiplayer-specific DLC packs for Inquisition that add more elements for fans to enjoy during the cooperative online mode.

As of yet, BioWare hasn't mentioned any concrete details about the first add-on for Inquisition besides the fact that it will arrive first on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 and then on other platforms like PC, PS3, or PS4.
