Valve has just unleashed the Foreseer's Contract update for Dota 2, bringing forth a brand new hero, in the form of Oracle, an Arcana item set for Phantom Assassin, a special in-game event titled Nemesis Assassin, and much more.

Dota 2 is one of the most popular titles in the free-to-player multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) genre, delighting tens of millions of fans every month with great gameplay, many heroes to choose from, and constant updates from developer Valve.

After quite a few smaller patches, Valve started last week to tease the next major update for Dota 2. The studio has shared some details over the last few days and now it's finally unleashed the Foreseer's Contract patch, according to the official website.

The new update brings many great things

The update includes quite a lot of impressive elements, starting with a new hero in the form of Oracle, one of the few remaining Dota 1 exclusive characters. Besides the long-awaited addition to Dota 2's already impressive roster, the patch brings forth the Manifold Paradox Arcana item set for Phantom Assassin.

Alongside these two big additions to the online title, the patch also features lots of gameplay improvements, from fixes for network and user interface issues to solutions for various bugs encountered by different heroes.

It also allows Broodmother and Phoenix to be picked in Captain's Mode, meaning you might get to see the heroes in professional matches from now on.

Those who own the compendium for The International 4 event will also be greeted with various goodies, including an effigy block, onto which they can carve their favorite heroes and have them displayed in their base during every match.

The Phantom Assassin Arcana also enables a new event

Not only does the great Arcana for Phantom Assassin item look great and completely change the appearance and the gameplay mechanics of the character, but it also allows players to enter a new in-game event called Nemesis Assassin.

Every time a match starts and one of the players has the Manifold Paradox Arcana enabled, the event kicks off automatically. That player will receive a task to kill a certain member from the enemy team. If he or she does that and goes on to win the match, they get special rewards and even free Arcana items for their teammates. If the other team kills the Phantom Assassin first or goes on to win the match, they have a chance to win the special rewards.
