14 DAY TRIAL // The upcoming patch for Dota 2, the Foreseer's Contract update, is set to bring a new hero, in the form of Oracle, an Arcana item set for Phantom Assassin, as well as quite a few promised rewards for The International 4 Compendium owners, and actual gameplay tweaks.
Dota 2 has been around for quite some time now and developer Valve has always taken pride in releasing plenty of updates that kept things balanced and fun for the tens of millions of players from around the world who enjoy the online experience.
The next major update is called Foreseer's Contract and brings forth two major additions, in the form of a new hero called Oracle, as well as an Arcana customization item set for Phantom Assassin.
Plenty of other things are also included in the patch
Besides those two things, Valve confirms on the official website that quite a few more elements are also coming alongside the update, starting with an item called Charm of the Defender's Vision. Similar to the Victory Taunts received by The International 4 Compendium owners, the new item allows players to use the charm at the beginning of the match to predict that your team is going to win.
Three correct predictions are going to transform the item into a Treasure of the Defender's Vision, while two incorrect ones transform it into a Charming Celebration action item. The charm will be available during the upcoming Nemesis Assassin Event only.
Owners of The International 4 Compendium are also receiving some of their promised rewards with the new update, including fresh models for the mega creeps, and a special heroic effigy mechanic. The latter allows players to get an effigy block of triumph, then use it to open the sculptor menu and begin posing your favorite hero. After you've set the equipment, pose, and written an inscription, the effigy can be equipped and appears in your team's base for all to see.
What's more, the long dormant compendium gems are waking up with the upcoming patch. They'll award owners with an emoticon that can be used in the chat as well as age that can be slotted into an item to show off your compendium level.
Gameplay tweaks bring Broodmother and Phoenix to Captain's Mode
There are also a few new gameplay tweaks, including the addition of Broodmother and Phoenix to the Captain's Mode, which means you might see them in professional matches once the patch drops. Various fixes for certain issues relating to different heroes are also included, as well as better network mechanics.
