This release introduces two new ownCloud apps

ClearFoundation had the pleasure of announcing the other day, February 19, 2015, the immediate availability for download of the final and stable release of its ClearOS Community 6.6.0 computer operating system based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The new version introduces a number of attractive features and new apps, as detailed below.

ClearOS is a server, gateway, and network platform tailored specifically for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as distributed enterprise environments. According to the release notes, ClearOS Community 6.6.0 brings support for YouTube School IDs, support for ISO-to-USB keys, support for WPAD (Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol), support for QoS (Quality of Service), as well as an updated Intrusion Detection engine.

“ClearOS Community 6.6.0 Final has arrived! Along with the usual round of bug fixes and enhancements, this release introduces WPAD, QoS, YouTube School ID support, an upgrade to the Intrusion Detection engine, and ISO-to-USB key support. With the upcoming ClearOS 7 release, some of the features in the beta have been migrated to the ClearOS 7 roadmap, notably WordPress, Joomla!, Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware, Vtiger and SugarCRM.” was stated in the official release notes of the product.

The ownCloud for Home and ownCloud for Business apps have been added

Please note that the WPAD support introduced in ClearOS Community 6.6.0 is a via a paid app. Talking about apps, the new release of ClearOS also adds two ownCloud apps, ownCloud for Home and ownCloud for Business. In addition, the WordPress, Joomla!, and Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware apps have also been added and are available only in a Beta form. They might be fully supported in the ClearOS Community 7 release if requested by users.
