14 DAY TRIAL // The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has just received its third major patch in the form of update 1.03 for the PC platform, and owners of the GOG and Steam versions can already begin downloading it. Those on PS4 or Xbox One will have to wait a bit more until they can get it.
The Witcher 3 launched earlier this week, after many different delays, quite a few controversies, and loads of heated debates. The consensus is that the RPG delivers a stellar experience, but that, when compared with previous gameplay videos released in 2013 or 2014, things aren’t looking all that great.
Even so, developer CD Projekt Red is confident in its product, and it’s already released not one, but two different updates for the game.
Patch 1.03 for The Witcher 3 is now available
The next patch, which takes the game to version 1.03, is now available for download on the PC platform, for both GOG and Steam users. Unfortunately, those on PS4 and Xbox One will have to wait a bit more, as CD Projekt Red confirms on its website that their versions will be available very soon.
Lots of major improvements are included in the new update, starting with stability tweaks for the regular gameplay and the user interface. It should also enhance the performance during cut scenes and certain gameplay sequences.
Visual problems, such as grass and foliage popping, are also remedied, while the game’s overall performance when the Nvidia HairWorks technology is enabled has been improved. What’s more, when players select the Ultra graphics preset, they’ll receive anisotropic texture sampling at a 16x setting.
Blood particles on water should display correctly, and players should no longer be able to shoot crossbow bolts at friendly characters.
Various other bugs relating to stamina regeneration, map interaction, input responsiveness from the keyboard, or the special effects have also been eliminated through the update.
The new patch 1.03 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available for download and weighs in at around 627MB.
