Sony did not manage to match Microsoft in terms of exclusive titles for the coming months, but the creator of the PlayStation has managed to secure some interesting deals linked to exclusive content for some of the biggest video games that will arrive in the fall.

Most players have focused on the announcement that new DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be first delivered on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3, but a similar deal linked to Disney Infinity 3.0 might have an even bigger impact in the long term.

Sony and Disney are aiming to deliver a special version of Starter Set that delivers almost everything that a lover of the Star Wars movie series might want to get.

On the PlayStation 4 and the PS3, gamers will be able to pick up the actual game and the base portal.

Both the Play Sets for Twilight of the Republic and those from Rise Against the Empire are included, and gamers will be able to use five core characters: Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Boba Fett.

Three web code cards are also included.

For the same content, gamers would have to pay separately on other platforms.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is all about variety and new experiences

Even on the PS4 and the PS3, gamers can expand their collection of Star Wars figurines and experiences by buying Han Solo and other characters.

Disney states that gamers will get the new content in the fall of this year and that Boba Fett can only be obtained in January of next year.

For those who might not be focused on Star Wars, there are also characters from the Inside Out movie and from The Avengers for them to pick up.

The development teams involved have said that the 3.0 version of the game is designed to introduce major changes for both combat and exploration, and there are also improvements for vehicle use.

Disney Infinity will have to compete with both the SuperChargers update for Skylanders and the all new LEGO Dimensions, both of which will debut this fall.
